The Forest Echoes
This song was written by Frank & Martha Fitzgerald - and sung by the Forest Echo
Families - in 1982 while they were vacationing in one of the rental cabins at the
wonderfully peaceful Forest Echo Farm in
Vermont.
After becoming aware of Step It Up 2007! - a National Day of Climate
Action, I discovered that their site was soliciting songs about the earth.
This seemed the perfect opportunity to hunt down the tape of a song I had
written and recorded in 1982. The recording was found and, eventually, uploaded
to the Step
It Up site, as well as being presented here -

Enjoy!
The Forest Echoes
Refrain:
The forest echoes; the trees bear its songs.
The earth is living; to all it belongs.
Into our good hands is given a gift:
This planet, dear friends, that we might exist.
(Refrain)
The earth must be tended, with love and care.
The harvest then certain for all to share.
(Refrain)
Here now is the future. Those yet to see birth
Cry out to all present: Please honor the earth!
(Refrain)

Please feel free to post the mp3s on your website (no hotlinking).
