Callie Recturn called police to her residence on Walker Street to report suspicious symbolic elements placed on and about her property without permission. The officers took notes and said they would "Ha ha, look into the matter, ha ha."
After receiving no further word from the PD during an unspecified length of time, Ms Recturn contacted ODA. A reporter and photographer were dispatched, met with the victim and filed a story with their editors. The editors could make neither heads nor tails of the affair.
Characterizing Recturn as "possibly a typical whacko," the editors decided to run an account that would demonstrate to readers that they had their hands full with this kind of stuff all the time and that subscriber/critics might want to cut them "some slack regarding the alledged low level of our present journalistic standards."
The ODA has no plans at this time to update this story in the future, but life, being what it is, who knows?
